Estimates, Not Exact Figures

The tools use widely accepted formulas and simplifying assumptions — the sRGB luminance model for contrast, straight-line interpolation for fluid clamp() values, and rounding for display. Results are only as good as the values you enter, and rounding (for example when converting a colour to HSL and back) can shift a figure by a small step. How a value actually renders depends on the browser, the surrounding CSS, the user’s font-size and zoom settings, and the device. Use every result as an authoring aid, and confirm the computed style in your browser’s developer tools.

Verify In A Real Browser

Front-end results are cheap to check and expensive to get wrong once shipped. Before relying on any figure from this site, always:
